Am I a Good Fit?

Every week I talk about a lesson learned, a vision, something awesome on campus, or a new part of our chapter. This week I will focus on fit.
In the business school, one learns the fundamentals of marketing, statistics, management, accounting, organizational behavior, and much more. In the architecture school, one learns the design process and how to turn a vision into a sketch into a masterpiece to one day be built. And, in Net Impact one learns how to use the skills learned in the classroom to create an impact in our community. Our chapter focuses on the project model to accomplish any given task, and as a co-curricular club we apply our recently learned skills to complete these tasks. Currently we have members pursuing the mitigation of plastic bag use on campus, creating a second-life for one-sided paper, starting a social venture, adding candy and a positive place to learn about personal impact weekly in Flag Hall, and much more. We are not just students, but in addition, leaders persevering against all odds to implement change as a grassroots organization from the bottom up. Have an idea about something new, or something you want changed on campus? Stop withholding it from the community and come out to a meeting to see how our interconnected community of project coordinators, skilled designers, thought leaders, and idea generators can help you make it real.
Being a part of Net Impact is easy, and by just talking with one of our members for a few minutes you will understand our desire to work for the change that we as individuals, and as a group, believe in. We’re not teachers, we are peers; we don’t hold office hours, we grab coffee or lunch; we are not scary people, we are here to help. Sound interesting? Give us a try.
